What is the difference between High Season and Low Season?

A:

Green Season represents the Costa Rica Rainy season, which typically starts May 1 and runs until Mid-December. During May through August, the rains are not that frequent and usually come in the late afternoons, or in the evenings. The rainiest months of Green season tend to be September and October.

High Season is the "Dry" season in Costa Rica which typically runs January through April. At this time there is little to no rains, and days are normally sunny, hot and clear. This is also our peak fishing season for Sailfish and Marlin.

Is Costa Rica a safe place to visit?

In general, Costa Rica is a very safe place for visitors. The local residents are warm and welcoming to tourists. Like any country, it has its bad element and share of crime. Exercising the same common sense and safety precautions as you would when traveling anywhere in the world, insures a safe and memorable visit. Petty theft is common place, so locking up after yourself, not leaving any valuables in your car or out in the open, and keeping a close eye on your personal items will prevent you for having a bad experience.

Is it ok to drink the water in Costa Rica?

We suggest drinking bottled water, which is available at every restaurant, and grocery store. Please note that ice cubes used in all restaurants and bars here, comes from a local ice service that uses purified water to make ice, so there is no need to worry about ice cubes in cocktails or soft drinks. The water is fine to brush your teeth with and shower in we just suggest you don't drink tap water.
